Objectives

The objectives of the National Citizens’ Committee are:

1. 1. To assist the poor, displaced disadvantaged and disenfranchised.
   2. To provide and/or assist in care or relief to orphans, displaced children, the aged, sick, helpless, poor and destitute persons and such other activities that may contribute to the alleviation of human suffering.
   3. To form, establish, and maintain homes for children, hospitals and nursing homes for sick, the aged and homes for the destitute.
   4. To form, establish, and/or assist in maintaining nursery schools, schools and colleges, technical training centers and other such projects for training and education for children and other people of all ages to participate in human society
   5. To establish and maintain and/or assist in maintaining libraries.
   6. To arrange study tours to understand different languages, lands, and culture.
   7. To give effect to international goodwill and understanding by having people of various lands and languages, share the joys and sorrows, burdens and needs especially of the projects found, established, maintained by the society.
   8. To recognize the achievements and contributions of eminent personalities in their respective fields at different levels.
   9. To hold any property, moveable or immovable, which may be demised or given to or vested in the society wholly or mainly for such charitable purposes or activities as do not conflict with the basic objects and purposes of the society and to execute or administer the trust in accordance with the wishes or directions of the donors.
   10. To promote, subscribe to, assist and amalgamate with or carry on the activities of any other society, association, whether incorporated or not having objects similar to the objects of the society.
   11. To acquire by purchase, lease, gift, exchange any property (moveable and immoveable) concessions, grants, licenses, privileges, claims and any estate, right or interest in all or any of them and either to retain, hold, develop, work, cultivate and deal with the same for the purposes of the society or to turn the same to account as many appear to be necessary or convenient for attaining the objects of the society.
   12. To sell, let on hire, improve, manage, develop, construct, build-on, make alterations to or improvements in exchange, lease, mortgage, dispose of, turn to account or otherwise deal with all or any part of the property and rights of the society.
   13. To borrow or raise money for the purposes and objects of the society and to secure the payment thereof in such manner and on such terms and conditions as the society may think fit.
   14. To organise social welfare programs from time to time.
   15. To pay for any rights or property acquired by the society and to remunerate any person, firm or body corporate rendering services to the society and also to pay wages, salaries, pensions, gratuities, contributions towards provident fund or other sums to any persons in recognition of services to the society.
   16. To procure recognition and affiliation of the society with any other club or organization with similar aims and objects in India and elsewhere and enter into such agreements and understandings as may be necessary and expedient for achieving the aims and objects of the society provided such agreements are permissible under the law.
   17. To adopt such means of making known the objects and purposes of the society as may deem expedient and in particular by advertising in the press, by circulars, by exhibitions of works of art or interest or by publication of books as periodicals and by granting prizes, reward and donations out of the funds of the society.
   18. To collect funds and to receive and accept donations, grants in aid, subscriptions, endowments, and gifts of money, land, buildings, stocks, shares, securities and any other property.
   19. To do and perform all such other acts, deeds matters and things either alone or in conjunction with others as are or may be deemed necessary incidental or conducive to the attainment of all or any of the objects and purpose aforesaid.
   20. To organise/hold seminars, and public meetings on the issues of national and public importance.
   21. To provide help to the victims of the natural calamities, and terrorist activities and to send observers/specialists to assess the situation of the spot.
   22. To organise sports in different parts of the country.
   23. To organise declamation contests, debate contests, in different parts of the country.
   24. To organise cultural programs for the cultural integration of the country.
   25. To organise painting and cartoon competition in different parts of the country.
   26. To organise essay writing, moot court, and other competitions for all round development of students and youth of the country.
